Tour Eiffel |
Having talked about writing this blog since the beginning of the summer I thought it was about time. What better way to inspire me than a trip to Paree to stay with my wonderful friend Fran who has just moved out there, here she is, quite the parisian...
Harriet and I arrived to what felt like the tropics, something Harriet hadn't prepared for in her woolen dress and sleeping bag coat. The city looked beautiful as we wondered along the Seine in the sunshine, quite a contrast to the cold grey London we had left behind only a few hours ago. We spent the first day, as my mother would say, 'soaking up the atmosphere,' exploring the winding streets, popping into little boutiques and second hand shops, ending up by the canal for a well deserved drink. After which went to a place I fail to remember the name of, best described as a cross between a bar/restaurant/cinema/library/fancy dress shop/shrine to France's African colonies - I literally felt like I was in Midnight in Paris!
